It is an honor and a privilege to welcome you to the Skokie Fire Department's web page. We appreciate you taking the time to visit us, and we hope the information you find here provides an understanding of the professionalism and pride associated with the Skokie Fire Department. Through our 130 years of dedicated service to the community, our department thrives because it follows its priorities with emphasis on serving our citizens, which is our most important mission.

The Skokie Fire Department is a full service agency accredited by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International and holding an enviable ISO Class 1 rating. In addition to our primary role of fire and EMS service, we also staff a variety of special teams, which include hazardous materials, technical rescue and fire investigations.

The department observed its 130th anniversary in 2011. It is with considerable satisfaction that we look back with pride on the department's accomplishments. As we look to the future, we must face the challenges and opportunities that come our way. Our goal is to meet and exceed expectations and provide all citizens with the best emergency service possible. Working together with other Village departments and the community as a whole, we can look forward to a future that is abundant with opportunity and accomplishment.
