Proposed Reductions to LGDF

On Monday, March 16, 2015, the Skokie Village Board unanimously approved a resolution urging Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner and the Illinois General Assembly not to reduce local government revenues. The Governor recently proposed a 50 percent reduction to the municipal share of the state income tax, also known as the Local Government Distributive Fund.  At a 50 percent reduction level, Skokie will lose an estimated $3.2 million annually. Click here to view the March 16, 2015 resolution approved by the Skokie Village Board.  The community is urged to contact Governor Rauner’s office and those of state legislators who represent Skokie and encourage them to protect local government funding.  Click here for information on contacting Governor Rauner’s office and Skokie-area state legislators.
