Skokie Senior Transit for Area Residents (STAR)

STAR Program

The Village of Skokie offers transportation for qualified Skokie residents through the STAR (Senior Transit for Area Residents) Program. Residents who are at least 65 years of age may participate in the program; younger residents also may participate if they have ADA Paratransit certification.

All members receive curb-to-curb service from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Small, lift-equipped buses are used to ensure accessibility. Travel can be to any destination in Skokie and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, to specified medical locations outside Skokie. There is no limit on the number of trips a member is allowed to schedule. Members call an hour to an hour and a half in advance to arrange for a ride.

For an application or to request more information, contact the STAR line at 847/676-STAR (847/676-7827).
