Skokie Through the Lens

Each year since 2014, the Skokie Fine Arts Commission has held the Skokie Through the Lens community photography exhibit. In 2020, for the first time, the exhibit was featured online for the community to enjoy. This year, the exhibit will be featured online and, during the month of October, select images will be on display in the lobby of Skokie Village Hall (5127 Oakton Street).

The theme of the 2023 Skokie Through the Lens community photography exhibit will be "Delighting in our Diversity."

We will begin accepting submissions in June of 2023. Anyone who lives, works or plays in Skokie is welcome to submit up to three photographs that capture a glimpse of life in the community.

Images captured on both traditional cameras and mobile devices will be accepted, and jpg files are preferred. All photos must include information about the location in the community where the image was taken, and captions are welcome but are subject to editing in part or in total. The exhibition runs through August 31, 2022, and images will be accepted until that time. Include people in the images whenever possible, please!

By submitting images, the artist agrees to allow the Village of Skokie to use them in other printed and electronic outreach materials. Parent/guardian permission needed for photographers under age 18.
