Community Development
The Community Development Department includes the Planning, Economic Development, Building and Zoning, and Property Standards Divisions and provides "one-stop-shopping" for the Village's development needs.

Corporation Counsel
The Corporation Counsel is appointed by and reports to the Mayor and Board of Trustees.

Business and Economic Development

Finance
The Village of Skokie Finance Department is responsible for the collection and disbursement of all Village funds, maintaining all financial records of the Village, filing of annual financial reports and oversight of the Collections and Purchasing Divisions.

Fire
The responsibilities of the fire service have expanded dramatically since 1881, and in that time, the Skokie Fire Department has evolved into an all hazards emergency response agency.

Health

Human Services
The Human Services Division provides social services to all Skokie residents. Human Services staff provide short-term counseling, information and referrals, social services, and in some cases, limited emergency financial assistance.

Human Resources
Specific functions of the Personnel Division include personnel policy development and administration, employee recruitment and selection, labor relations, employee benefit and insurance administration, federal/state employee regulation compliance, classification and compensation, employee relations and training and development.

Public Works
Activities such as engineering, flood control, snow and ice control, leaf pick-up, street sweeping, solid waste and recycling management, sidewalk replacement, water and sewer maintenance, and tree maintenance are just a few examples of services the Public Works Department is proud to provide to residents on a regular basis.

Village Clerk
Premier among the office's programs is its election services, with its primary goal to provide the greatest convenience to voting. The Clerk's election duties include, but are not limited to voter registration and re-registration.

Village Manager
The Village Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Village. He is appointed by the Mayor and the Board of Trustees and serves on a full-time basis. The Manager's responsibilities include oversight of the day to day operations of the Village, enforcement of Village Ordinances, recommendation of policy alternatives to the Board, and preparation of an annual budget for the Board's review.
