Niles Center Road Resurfacing Project

Traffic Cones

The State of Illinois will soon begin resurfacing Niles Center Road from Touhy Avenue to Church Street. Plans were reviewed by Village staff during design. IDOT solicited bids for this project earlier this year and preliminary work will begin Tuesday, September 3. Work is intended to be completed by the end of November 2019. Travel delays should be expected and alternate routes considered. No work will occur on the segment of Niles Center between just south of Galitz Street and just south of Main Street as well as on the segment from just south of Carol Street to just north of Greenwood Street. The omission of the two segments is due to jurisdiction and forthcoming projects.

The scope of work includes street resurfacing, pavement patching, pavement striping, ADA compliant pedestrian ramps and other work incidental to complete the improvement project. Village staff will monitor the progress.
