Each year in the late summer, the Village’s Beautification and Improvement Commission puts out a call for Property Beautification Award nominations. The awards are
intended to recognize the efforts of both commercial and residential property owners to maintain the outside appearance of their properties.
A total of 33 property awards were given for the 2019/2020 program, along with 19 honorable mentions. Photos of the award-winning properties are available for viewing on the Commission's page at www.skokie.org, as well as the program brochure that includes an introduction from Mayor Van Dusen and Beautification and Improvement Commission Chairman Ferdinand Soco. The introduction reads It is fitting that we acknowledge and pay tribute to those property owners who have made our Village sparkle a little more…[we] say “Thank You” for your efforts, which are noticed and appreciated by your fellow citizens and neighbors in Skokie.
