The severe storms in the Skokie area on the evening of August 10 caused scattered power outages throughout the community as well as an abundance of fallen tree branches.
Over the next few days, Skokie Public Works crews will pick up any fallen branches and limbs that residents bring to the curb in front of their home. Priority is being given to emergency situations where fallen branches have damaged homes or blocked streets.
Power outages can be reported and the status of power outages can be tracked by using ComEd’s Outage Map at www.comed.com/Outages/ReportAnOutage or by calling 1-800-EDISON-1. If you see downed power lines, leave the area immediately and then call ComEd. Representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
