Through September 30, 2021, applications will be accepted to serve on the Community Review Board that will review Skokie Police Department use of force incident data and reports semi-annually and report findings to the Public Safety Commission.
The Public Safety Commission recommended that the Community Review Board represent the demographics of the community in terms of race/ethnicity, income levels, age, gender and experience as well as diversity of geographic locations in the community.
The Public Safety Commission's recommendation to the Village Board regarding establishing the Community Review Board is one component of a detailed recommendation regarding the Skokie Police Department Use of Force Policy. The Public Safety Commission's recommendation followed a nearly year-long community review process.
