Effective August 30, 2021, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker issued a State-wide indoor mask mandate as cases of COVID-19 and hospitalizations continue to rise. See more information.
This follows an indoor mandate from the Skokie Health and Human Services Department effective on August 23, 2021, all individuals over age two who can medically tolerate a mask, are required to wear a mask indoors. The order requires mask wearing in common areas of multi-unit residential buildings and public places, such as restaurants, movie theaters, retail establishments, fitness clubs and on public transportation.
Vaccination, masking in public indoor settings and social distancing remain the most effective means of slowing the transmission of COVID-19.
Skokie businesses are required to post signage that states that masks are required. The Village of Skokie has created a sign that can be posted by employers. Download a copy of the mask order sign.
