With rising temperatures and humidity, it is important to protect yourself and others from the impacts of heat. Make sure to drink lots of water and wear sunscreen.
Heat waves have the
potential to cover a large area, exposing a high number of people to a hazardous combination of heat and humidity, which can be very taxing on the body. For residents without access to air conditioning, there are several cooling centers available in the community:
5215 Oakton Street
- Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.
9300 Weber Park Place
Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
and Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
