The Sustainable Environmental Advisory Commission (SEAC) is conducting a community waste reduction study to both control refuse collection and disposal costs, and to increase the community’s environmental sustainability efforts. The SEAC seeks comments, ideas and imaginative solutions from Skokie residents on ways in which the Village can reduce the amount of waste that is sent for landfill disposal through additional waste reduction, recycling initiatives and refuse collection program modifications.
Here's how you can participate:
- Through Tuesday, October 26, 2021, comments and ideas can be sent to info@skokie.org or mailed to Skokie Public Works Department, 9050 Gross Point Road, Skokie, Illinois 60077, Attn: SEAC.
- On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the SEAC will hold a listening session at Skokie Village Hall, 5127 Oakton Street, Skokie. Speakers will have three minutes to address the SEAC. Masks must be worn to entirely cover the nose and mouth while inside of Village Hall.
