The Skokie Community Foundation presents an online community healthcare symposium, COVID-19: Where We Are on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Village of Skokie, Skokie Public Library and others are partnering in the symposium. Skokie Public Health Nurses Claudia Braden and Jenn Davis, as well as Social Worker Iris Barrios, all from the Village's Health and Human Services Department, are among the symposium speakers.

Event information from the Skokie Public Library: Find out where we are now and what's on the horizon. Get answers to your questions at the Skokie Community Foundation's Healthcare Symposium. Curious about boosters? Vaccines for kids? How about the local picture? What’s happening in the schools? Representatives from the Illinois Department of Public Health and Skokie's own health department will outline the latest data and challenges on the state and local level. You’ll hear from local healthcare organizations and about public resources that provide help with housing, food, and other critical support during this time.

We will offer simultaneous interpretation service upon request in the following languages: Arabic, Assyrian, Russian, Spanish and Urdu. Requests for this service must be made using the “Register” link no later than 6:30 pm on Sunday, October 17. Anyone who needs interpretation in an additional language should check “Other” in the Register link, and we will contact you to see if we can accommodate the request. You will receive the Zoom link in your confirmation email. If you have questions about this event after registration has closed, please email the events team or call the library at 847/673-7774.
