Workforce Training Initiative Offers Free Short-Term Certificate Program at Oakton Community College
The Village of Skokie Health and Human Services Department, in partnership with the Oakton Community College, is offering Skokie residents seeking to improve their resume and re-enter the workforce a grant for free tuition for one of Oakton Community College’s short-term certificate programs. To qualify for this program, residents must be unemployed or underemployed and their household monthly gross income must be within 150% of the Federal Poverty Level.
Residents interested in applying for this program must submit an application-link to application and supporting paperwork to the Village no later than December 17, 2021. Residents without access to the internet can obtain an application by calling 847/933-8208 or emailing iris.barrios@skokie.org. Residents that are awarded the tuition grant will start their short-term certificate courses as early as Oakton’s spring semester which begins on January 18, 2022.
