Congratulations to Culver's - Skokie 2022 Business of the Year!

At the November 7, 2022 Village Board meeting, the Consumer Affairs Commission announced the winner and runners up for the 2022 Skokie Business of the Year Award. After receiving nominations from the community and reviewing additional information provided by the nominated businesses, the commission selected Culver’s of Skokie, 9455 Gross Point Road, as the 2022 Skokie Business of the Year.

Skokie resident Peggy Hoskin, who nominated Culver’s, noted that…[the] quality of their food is of high standards…they care about an attractive landscape, clean, safe grounds…this place feels like all businesses should! Culver’s regularly hosts fundraiser nights for schools and community organizations where 20 percent of sales is given back to the organization. The business supports the Niles Township Food Pantry, donated hundreds of meals to local hospital staff during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic and this year, donated $25,000, an entire day’s sales, to the World Central Kitchen to support Ukraine. Culver’s owners Katie and Susan Bulgrin and Michael Smith also support and sponsor numerous other community organizations/events, including the Community Animal Rescue Effort, the Skokie Chamber of Commerce Car Show, Skokie Little League Baseball and many more.

Skokie 2022 Business of the Year runners-up include Buona Beef, Healing Hands Wellness & Chiropractic Center, Sketchbook Brewing and Skokie Provisions. Many other businesses received honorable mentions this year, including Ace Hardware, Complimentary Café, Costa Arena Mexican Restaurant, Elated Wellness, Eyeview Optical, Forza Meats, Ken’s Diner and Grill, Kneads & Wants Artisan Bakery, Manny’s Pizza, North Suburban Pharmacy, Pop Digital Marketing, Pita Inn, Randy Ramos Salon, Soul Good Coffee, Symbol Training Institute and Webster Dental Care.

Many other Skokie businesses received honorable mentions this year. For more information please visit skokie.org and be sure to follow the Village’s Shop Local Skokie and Downtown Skokie Facebook pages.
