Property owners planning their 2023 garden are encouraged to check out the updated Skokie Beautification Awards program, which now highlights sustainable practices that will help make our community a better place to live. Winners will receive an awards certificate and/or a yard sign during the October Beautification Awards ceremony, and winning yard photos are posted on our website. 2023 nominations are due by July 15.
New Special Awards include:
- Pollinator Pantry. Add food for local pollinators to your front yard and be a Pollinator Protector!
- Edible Garden. Does your front yard include food for humans like herbs, fruit, or vegetables? Integrated plantings and/or separated edible planting qualify to win.
- Skokie’s Best. The Top 5 very best gardens in Skokie are eligible for special recognition!
