Ready to level up your involvement in local issues? The Village of Skokie has more than a dozen volunteer boards and commissions, which advise the Board of Trustees on a wide variety of important issues impacting the quality of life in our community, including arts and culture, public health, public safety, sustainability, and more!
Board and commission members contribute their time to planning, researching and analyzing these issues, and providing recommendations to the Village Board. Currently, approximately 250 community members serve on a board or commission.
Start the process by completing the online or print application form. Vacancies currently exist on some boards and commissions. Board and commission web pages on the Village website are updated at the beginning of each month with the number of vacancies.
Qualifications: All members must either live or work in Skokie. Members are appointed by the mayor with approval by the Village Board of Trustees. Although acceptance of an appointment to a board or commission requires a commitment on your part, you’ll find it rewarding and enriching as you become an integral part of Village government.
