Skokie Health and Human Services (SHHS) and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) urge residents to receive the latest available vaccinations for COVID-19, RSV, and Flu. Hospitalizations for all three viruses have increased across Illinois and vaccination remains the most effective tool in preventing severe illness.

Getting Vaccinated

Community members can contact their primary healthcare provider or visit to find a convenient vaccination location.

In addition, Skokie Health and Human Services is able to provide vaccinations for the following groups below. Residents who meet the criteria should call Skokie Health and Human Services to schedule a vaccination appointment at 847-933-8252.

  • Flu. Every resident in Skokie, ages 6 months and older, is eligible for a flu vaccine. Residents ages 65 or older have the option of receiving the senior high dose or the regular dose vaccine
  • COVID-19. Residents who have Medicaid, do not have medical insurance, or who are underinsured (have medical insurance but the insurance does not cover vaccines) are eligible to receive the most up-to-date COVID-19 vaccine through Skokie HHS through the Vaccines for Children Program and the Bridge Access Program.
  • RSV. Infants ages 8 months and younger who have Medicaid, are uninsured, or are underinsured are eligible to receive the RSV vaccine, nirsevimab, through Skokie HHS.

Strategies to Stay Healthy

Additionally, the following strategies should be used to reduce exposure to respiratory viruses:

Every household in the U.S. is eligible to receive four free at-home tests through the website.
