Skokie Village Hall, 5127 Oakton Street, is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for limited transactions only. For the continued safety of the general public and Village staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Village of Skokie encourages patrons to conduct Village business online or over the telephone.
Nearly all Village services can be completed online via the Village’s website at www.skokie.org and requests can be submitted through the Access Skokie app or by emailing email@example.com. For general Village Hall service questions, please call 847-673-0500, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All police administration and non-emergency matters for the Police Department should be directed to 847-982-5900.

Effective on Monday, June 8, a limited number of in-person transactions will be available at Village Hall for business at the Village’s Finance Department, including payment of water bills, payment of red light or non-moving violations and miscellaneous invoices.
For everyone’s safety, the following new procedures are in place for customers who wish to conduct in-person transactions:
All other Village departments will continue to conduct business via online and phone transactions, with in-person appointments arranged on a case-by-case basis as necessary.

All Skokie Village Board meetings can be viewed on SkokieVision cable channels 17 (Comcast) and 25 (RCN) or via the Village website. Meetings air live and are played throughout the week following the meeting, and also can be viewed on the Village website.
Until further notice, meetings of the Skokie Village Board will be held electronically, with a majority of Village officials participating via remote access in order to comply with the State of Illinois Stay-At-Home order. Members of the public who wish to comment as to an item on the published agenda or to comment during public comments must submit their statement or question in writing to the Village Manager’s Office on the day of the scheduled meeting and all properly submitted statements or questions will be presented and read during the relevant portion of the meeting.

The Village of Skokie has canceled most advisory board and commission meetings through the end of July in order to limit exposure to and spread of COVID-19.

Make sure your subscription to the Village’s CodeRED alert system is up to date. Please also go to the CodeRED Alerts tab for additional information on/to sign up for CodeRED or to make sure your phone number is up to date in the Village’s CodeRED emergency database. Through the CodeRED system, the Village can send out automated telephone, text and email messages quickly and efficiently in the event of an emergency. Declaring a local state of emergency is a proactive measure to enhance the Village’s ability to respond to COVID-19.
An internal response team is meeting regularly to review information updates and plan the Village’s COVID-19 response. The state of emergency declaration provides the Village Manager with increased authority over expenditures and other actions to quickly respond to this evolving situation.
