Randall Roberts was elected
Village Trustee in April 2001. He represents Skokie on the board of
directors of the Northwest Municipal Conference, a council of
governments representing over 40 municipalities in the north and
northwest Chicago metropolitan area.
Roberts has been a practicing
attorney for 30 years, earning undergraduate and law degrees from Loyola
University, Chicago. He currently works as the Compliance Officer for Maryville
Academy, a non-profit child care organization, in Des Plaines,
Illinois. He formerly served as assistant state's attorney in the Cook
County State's Attorney's Office for 30 years, most recently as
a member of the executive staff, acting as the Director of Continuing
Legal Education and technology project coordinator.
supervised the prosecution of juvenile delinquency cases, including
cases involving Skokie youth. During his tenure in the State's
Attorney's Office, Roberts has also held other supervisory positions and
prosecuted hundreds of adult criminal cases in courtrooms throughout
Cook County. Roberts is a former member of Skokie's Youth at Risk Task
Force; a past chairperson of the Chicago Bar Association's Juvenile Law
Committee and enjoys speaking at public forums about the criminal and
juvenile justice system.
He is a member of St. Nicholas Catholic
Church, a member of the Skokie Lion's Club and a supporter and volunteer
for District 219 and District 73½ schools, Maryville Academy and Misericordia Home. He and his wife, Margy, have lived in Skokie for 22 years are parents of three young adults, Elizabeth, Kevin and Sarah.
