Ilonka Ulrich has lived in Skokie
since 2001, and was elected to the Village Board in 2013. Before being
elected, she served as a member of the Skokie Zoning Board of Appeals
where she worked with fellow commissioners to fairly maintain Skokie's
building code and regulations for Village residents.
Ulrich is an
attorney, having earned a Juris
Doctor degree from St. John's University School of Law, New York. She
practices law at a suburban Chicago firm, representing clients who have
been injured. She also worked in the public sector as a workers'
compensation commissioner for the State of Illinois, and has volunteered
to represent battered women in legal proceedings. As a single parent
with a Latin American and Eastern European heritage, Ulrich appreciates
and values Skokie's diverse, inclusive community.
